Coot under Ubuntu 10.10

Nice and easy installation of the Coot - default software for every x-ray scientist (250 Mb space required):
#adding repository
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:mok0/ppa
# updating rep. list
sudo apt-get update
# installing
sudo apt-get install coot

  2. hi..

im a newbee with linux, amd ivs been tryin to get coot to work on my recently installedd ubuntu 11.10

i tried to install coot from the ccp4 downoaded package but it shows me some errors , that's when i found this page and tried to do what you have said

after i gave the install command it gives an error message as such

Package coot is not available, but is referred to by another package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another source

E: Package 'coot' has no installation candidate

    pls help me with this..

    thnks

    ade

  4. I have the exact same problem, I think that the this particular repository ppa/mok0 ppa is NOT being properly maintained.. this is not your fault.
